The Happy Valley Animation Fest (HVAF) is a 100% volunteer driven endeavor as we do not charge animators entree fees. About HVAF
The Happy Valley Animation Festival (HVAF) is an international animation competition that seeks to showcase works by student, early career, and practicing professional artists, designers, and filmmakers in three primary categories: Animated Short Films, Experimental Animation, and Animated Motion Graphics & Design. HVAF receives over 1500 entrees from over 125 countries annually.
The festival takes place in State College, PA (Happy Valley), with open and student category award winners and official selections featured in screenings and gallery exhibitions at The Pennsylvania State University, Central Pennsylvania, and online.
HVAF is a collaboration between organizers, volunteers, and academic partners. Events are hosted by the Digital Arts and Media Design Program in the School of Visual Arts at Penn State and the Animation Club at Penn State.
